HAMMOND | Books, Brushes & Bands for Education are about to kick off their annual summer vocal camp for students ages eight through high school.
Each year, Books, Brushes & Bands for Education hold multiple classes throughout the year and this summer is no different. Vocal students are given the opportunity to work on a variety of popular music and traditional music with a chance to explore different vocal techniques. With this year’s vocal music camp, students will receive ten days of instruction, with everyone accumulating to a final tour around the region to perform, starting off at City Hall in Hammond and ending with a performance at First Midwest Bank in Hammond and a fun trip to a local Dairy Queen. After the final performance, students and families will be invited to a swim party at Edison Pool in Hammond.
Registration for camp can be done over the phone or during office hours 10am-3pm at Merge. There is a Registration Night happening on July 10 from 6-8 p.m. at Merge as well.
The first day of camp begins July 13 from 10:30 a.m.-noon at Woodmar United Methodist Church (across from the YMCA), 7320 Northcote Ave. in Hammond.
