HAMMOND | Two alleged members of the Latin Kings street gang were sentenced Wednesday to prison in a racketeering case.

Martin "Lefty" Anaya, of Chicago, was sentenced to 30 years in prison and five years of supervised release, according to court records.

Jason "Creeper" Ortiz, of Chicago, was sentenced to 25 years in prison and five years of supervised release.

A jury found Anaya guilty Sept. 25 on charges of conspiracy to commit racketeering activity and conspiracy to possess with intent to distribute 5 kilograms or more of cocaine and 1,000 kilograms or more of marijuana, according to court records. 

According to a sentencing memorandum, Anaya was considered a senior member of of the gang.

Ortiz previously pleaded guilty in plea agreement to one count of conspiracy to commit racketeering activity.
