Pope is an award-winning, internationally acclaimed entertainer who performs styles from jazz to opera and from rhythm and blues to Broadway.

Several community members and leaders will be recognized, including Indiana State Senator Lonnie Randolph, D-East Chicago; attorney Barbara Bolling, of Gary, a member of the NAACP National Board of Directors; Third District Hammond City Councilman Anthony W. Higgs; the Rev. Herman A. Polk Sr. of New Hope Missionary Baptist Church, Hammond; and Hammond Community Development Director Owana Miller.

Scholarships will be awarded to local residents.
