HAMMOND | The South Shore Convention and Visitors Authority is sponsoring a What I Want for Christmas theme writing contest.

The contest is open through Dec. 12 and is categorized according to three age groups: 9 and younger, 10 to 18 and 19 and older.

Entries must include name, address, phone number and age category and should be more than 20 words but less than 250.

Winners in each category will win a prize valued from $50 to $150.

The contest is part of the ongoing exhibit "A Christmas Story" Comes Home.

The exhibit features six animatronic displays depicting scenes from the holiday movie "A Christmas Story." It runs through Jan. 6.
