Daphne Robinson, administrative assistant to the Dean of the School of Management and Merrillville resident, received the Exemplary Operations/Technical Assistant Award.

Associate Director, Facilities Operations Karen Sullivan of St. John earned the Outstanding Administrator Award and Griffith resident Sam Williams, Building Services midnight crew chief, received the Outstanding Service Employee Award.

Gerard, a university employee since 1985, oversees undergraduate and graduate academic nursing programs.

"I am very honored and humbled to be selected as the recipient of this award," she said. "It is a result of the wonderful mentors I've had during my years at Purdue Calumet and the good fortune I have to work with such a creative, intelligent and inspiring group of faculty and staff."

Holland has worked for the university since 2001. She was nominated for her role as gatekeeper of her office. "It is a huge honor to be nominated and receive this award," she said. "I've always felt I'm just doing what I love to do to the best of my ability."

Robinson has worked at Purdue Calumet since 1999. She oversees the day-to-day operation of the School of Management. "To have won this award is a breathtaking surprise, she said. "It is really great to know that my dedication is observed and appreciated."

Sullivan said of her award, "Words can't explain how honored I feel. This was a team win as I could not do what I do without my staff." Sullivan has been an employee at Purdue Calumet since 1995 and oversees building services and campus grounds.

Williams, who joined the Purdue Calumet staff in 1996, has been described as dependable, trustworthy, respected and hard working, among other attributes. "It gives a person a sense of pride and accomplishment to win an award like this," Williams said. "It means that the tasks I perform do not go unnoticed by the campus community."

All five employees were honored at Purdue Calumet's recent annual service recognition luncheon.
