HAMMOND | Members of the Bishop Noll Institute marching band, dance and cheer teams participated for the first time in the annual Chicago Thanksgiving Day Parade. The parade, sponsored by McDonald’s and televised nationwide on WGN-TV allowed students to not only showcase their talents, but also brand new marching band uniforms. An audition tape sent to the parade committee won the school a spot in the popular parade. The BNI marching band, led by director Rocco Carioto, has grown from 12 students to 31 students in just 18 months.
