Several large donations have been received at the ReStore recently, and help is needed to sort through these items and get them ready for the sales floor. This is a short-term project and a good introduction to the ReStore, 6114 W. Ridge Road, Gary, for those have not volunteered before.

Volunteers who like to interact with people throughout the day and feel comfortable helping customers find great deals are needed as customer assistants. Volunteers will also help set up store displays and rotate product throughout the ReStore.

Donation assistants sort, price, and send incoming donations out to the sales floor. Volunteers will help with unloading donations and filling out donation receipts for donors. "You’ll be the first to see the incredible items people donate to help support affordable housing," said one Habitat official.

The ReStore is looking for volunteers from 9 a.m. to 5  p.m. Tuesday through Saturday. Four-hour shifts are available. Orientation is held at 9:30 a.m. every Saturday for new volunteers.
