Businesses offer students chance at a scholarship

HAMMOND | Two local businesses are out to help students win college scholarships.

Los Altenos Restaurant, 6735 Kennedy Ave. and Kennedy Cleaners, 2824 173rd St., have joined National College Funding Services to raise college scholarship funds specifically for Hammond High School, Clark High School, Morton High School, Gavit High School, Highland High School, Griffith High School, Munster High School, Whiting High School, Calumet High School and Bishop Noll Institute.

Students from these schools patronizing Kennedy Cleaners any week day from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. will receive a $500 scholarship application. Students from these schools patronizing Los Altenos Restaurant any day of the week are required to call (219) 218-8883 to receive a $500 scholarship application.

Once completed and submitted, applications will be entered into a drawing for a scholarship to be applied towards the college of the winner's choice. Each high school is eligible for two, $500 scholarship drawings.
