HAMMOND | Challenger Learning Center of Northwest Indiana will host its Second Saturday Family Science Program event beginning at 3:15 p.m. Saturday. The event includes a laser light show and a planetarium show.
Attendees may purchase tickets for individual laser light shows or planetarium shows for $5 for adults and $3 for children 14 and younger. A special package including both shows is $8 for adults and $5 for children 14 and younger.
The planetarium show will be "Summer Sky Show" and "Dawn of the Space Age." Attendees will trace humanity’s first steps into space through a look at both the Russian and U.S. ventures into the cosmos. This accurate historic reconstruction of man’s first steps into space will showcase the drive, passion and perseverance of the men and women that took part in the death-defying endeavors.
The laser light show, "Laser Spirit!," will feature patriotic songs from artists The Beatles, John Williams, U2, Lee Greenwood and more.
Individual planetarium shows begin at 3:15 and 5:10 p.m. Individual laser light shows begin at 4:15 p.m. and 6:10 p.m.
