HAMMOND | The Lafayette School and Columbia School neighborhood crime watch groups meet at 6 p.m. on Tuesday at the Hammond Public Library's Community Room, 564 State St.

Hammond Police Chief Brian Miller, Diane Walker, from the Rainbow Women's Shelter, and Tom Branson, project director of the Lake County Sheriff's Department's Violence Intervention Program, will speak at the meeting.

Councilwoman Janet Venecz, D-at large, Councilmen Jack Uylaki, D- 2nd, and police Lt. Pete Moore also will speak at the event.

Residents will receive information about recent criminal activity in the neighborhoods.
