CALUMET CITY | Dogs of all sizes, political views and national origins will bring their owners to Memorial Park at 10 a.m. Saturday to participate in the 10th Neighborhoods Inc. Dog Walk sponsored by Mayor Michelle Markiewicz Qualkinbush. Registration begins at 9.

Dogs and owners will begin the walk behind the Calumet Memorial Park District building and circle the neighborhood before heading back to the park. A blessing of the dogs will take place by the Rev. David Pazlik at St. Victor Church.

The Calumet City Police Department K-9 Unit will perform a demonstration. There will also be contests, including Best Trick, Best Dressed Dog and this year’s new contest - Best Bark/Howl. Prizes and certificates will be awarded in each category.

Laugh at the Canine Comedy Corner, the largest display of comic strip dog humor in the world, with more than 200 items featuring Marmaduke, Fred Bassett, Daisy, Dawg, Otto and other cartoon canines.
