HAMMOND | A Ford Heights man was sentenced Friday to 10 years in federal prison for dealing heroin, Hammond federal court records show.

Michael King, 35, also faces a period of five years on supervised release following his prison sentence, which was handed down by U.S. District Court Judge Rudy Lozano.

Between January 2008 and April 2012, King worked with other suspects to sell at least one kilogram of the illegal narcotic, court records state.

King pleaded guilty to the charge in September. Another defendant in the case, Christine Roth, also has pleaded guilty in the matter and was sentenced in December to 20 months in prison, court records show.
