HAMMOND | A Gary man facing a drug charge is expected to accept a plea agreement Wednesday in federal court.
Percy Spurlock pleaded guilty to possession with intent to distribute cocaine base, according to the plea agreement filed Tuesday in U.S. District Court. He previously faced gun charges, but those counts are expected to be dropped as part of the agreement.
Spurlock will formally accept the plea agreement at a hearing at 10 a.m. Wednesday, according to court records.
Spurlock could face up to 20 years in prison and a $1 million fine, according to the agreement.
He was charged in March but was not arrested until May, according to court records. He's accused of possessing cocaine base, which is known as crack cocaine, on Oct. 4, 2012.
Spurlock was convicted in 2000 on a charge of distribution of cocaine in New Jersey, according to the indictment.
