HAMMOND | A Gary man was charged last week with federal gun and drug charges after officers linked him to stolen firearms.
Michael J. Radovick, 28, was charged with being a felon in possession of a firearm and with being a user of a controlled substance while in possession of a firearm, according to an arrest complaint.
Officers were investigating a series of home burglaries that occurred Sept. 8 and Sept. 9 in the 7200 block of Kentucky Avenue in Hammond where two firearms were stolen. A man who was arrested Sept. 9 during the second home burglary told officers Radovick had the stolen guns, according to court records.
Officers served a search warrant on Radovick's Gary home and found three loaded guns, marijuana and cocaine, according to the complaint. Radovick told officers he purchased a .38-caliber revolver from a fellow Latin King member for $150.
Radovick was previously convicted in Cook County on a drug charge. His arraignment is scheduled for 1:30 p.m. Friday.
