HAMMOND | A Gary man pleaded guilty Tuesday in federal court to bank robbery charges.

Stacy B. Davis was charged in January with robbing four banks in Merrillville and Munster between 2009 and 2012, according to court records. He's accused of robbing a Chase Bank in Merrillville in October 2009 and Oct. 11, 2012.

According to court records, he's also accused of robbing a Fifth Third Bank branch in Munster on March 20, 2010, and a TCF Bank branch in Munster on Oct. 2.

Davis could face up to 20 years in prison for each count, according to the plea agreement. He also faces up to three years of supervised release following his time in prison. 

He's scheduled to be sentenced in federal court on Jan. 8, 2014.
