HAMMOND | A Hammond business on Tuesday donated more than 800 items to the Food Bank of Northwest Indiana.
Code Red Safety, 6205 Indianapolis Blvd., began the drive Nov. 12. Competitions were held among the company's different departments to see who could collect the most food, said Donna Jones, the company's purchasing manager.
“We just try to do something to give back to the community,” Jones said.
The winning department was the manpower/rescue services department, which collected more than 190 items for the drive, Jones said.
