HAMMOND | The Hammond Recycling Department and the city will host the annual Hammond Environmental Expo on May 4 at the Jean Shepherd Center, 3031 Mahoney Drive.
Free booths are available to businesses, organizations, environmental groups, schools and federal, county and local park administrations, to name a few.
The only criteria is the focus of the booth must adhere to an environmental topic.
Those include recycling and recycled projects, alternative energy, bicycle trails, water mitigation, clean waters, environmental programs, wildlife/native plant preservation, natural landscaping, energy efficiency, green space, shoreline cleanup, land preservation, artists and organic gardening.
The fair runs from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.
