HAMMOND | A Hammond man has been sentenced to eight years in federal prison for his admitted role in a Latin Kings drug and gang case.
Victor Meza Jr., 24, pleaded guilty last year to one count of conspiracy to participate in racketeering activity and possession with intent to sell cocaine and marijuana. He also agreed to assist federal authorities with future investigations, Hammond federal court records state.
Meza was sentenced for those crimes earlier this month, and the judgement was entered into his Hammond federal court case file Monday.
Meza is among about 20 alleged Latin Kings members or associates — including two former Chicago police officers — named in a sweeping racketeering case.
