HAMMOND | The city has scheduled a ribbon-cutting ceremony at 10 a.m. Tuesday for the downtown Hohman Avenue project.

Work is complete on improvements to a four-block stretch of Hohman Avenue and one block of Russell Street.

The project aimed to beautify the area by upgrading ornamental lighting, repairing pavement and adding brick accents to crosswalks.

The event will occur at the northeast corner of the new parking lot on Hohman Avenue between Sibley and Rimbach streets.
