HAMMOND | A Hebron man plans to plead guilty to illegally receiving his dead mother's Social Security benefits from April 1991 to November 2013, federal court records show.
Richard Dickus, 71, also agreed to make full restitution by repaying the Social Security Administration $217,996, according to a plea agreement filed in U.S. District Court.
Dickus was indicted in March on one count of theft of government property.
Dickus faces up to 10 years in prison. In exchange for his plea, prosecutors agreed to recommend a sentence at the minimum of federal guidelines.
