HAMMOND | Deborah Long has been appointed by Gov. Mike Pence to serve on the Little Calumet River Basin Development Commission.
Long was nominated by Hammond Mayor Thomas McDermott Jr.
Long graduated from Purdue University with a bachelor of arts in architectural engineering technology. She has been employed by R.J. Mycka, Inc. in Highland for the past 16 years, handling manual drafting and AutoCAD design and detailing.
She also has served as president of Modern Structures Project Planners Inc. since 2001.
The commission is a nine-member board charged with flood control efforts along the Little Calumet River.
