CROWN POINT | An Illinois man was ordered Monday to serve 11 years in prison on separate incidents of felony burglary and auto theft, according to the Lake County prosecutor's office.
Arturo Mason, 25, is reported to have entered a Hammond home April 24 by prying open the front door.
Mazon was in the process of stealing jewelry, a DVD player and a credit card when he was caught by police, a news release from the Lake County prosecutor states.
In a separate incident March 2, Mason stole a 2005 Chevrolet Impala when he noticed the engine running while the car was parked on a Hammond Street, officials said.
