CROWN POINT | Prosecutors on Thursday charged two men with armed robbery in connection with the robbery of a Hammond man and a second incident at a pizza shop.
Charged are Tito Robinson, 17, of Hammond, and Brandon Villa, 21, of Chicago.
The robbery victim told police he was accosted by two men on bicycles about 11:30 p.m. Sept. 6 in the 1700 block of 167th Street in Hammond.
Taken at gunpoint were cash, a debit card, a cell phone, an iPad and earplugs, court records state.
About two hours later, police were called to a robbery at a pizza shop in the 7200 block of Indianapolis Blvd., where two suspects were taken into custody. In the men's possession were the stolen goods from the earlier robbery, court records state.
Also recovered were a machete used in the pizza shop incident and a BB gun believed used in both incidents.
