HAMMOND | A region man agreed Tuesday to plead guilty to robbing a Hammond bank and kidnapping a female, federal court records show.
Ronald Parks was indicted with the charges in two separate federal court cases.
In March 2012, Parks kidnapped a female and took her from Indiana into Illinois, holding her for money, court records state.
Less than two weeks later, Parks robbed Citizens Bank in Hammond. A probation officer recognized Parks, who is a registered sex offender, in a photo from the robbery, records state.
Parks agreed Tuesday to plead guilty but has not formally done so.
He will pay Citizens Bank $4,098 in restitution, according to the plea agreement.
