HAMMOND | Purdue University Calumet is introducing in January an online master’s degree program designed to prepare graduates for positions of management and other leadership in technology-related professions.
The Master of Science in Technology with a concentration in Technology Leadership and Management is intended for individuals who seek technical leadership positions in business and industry, as well as higher education faculty posts in technology and engineering technology.
The Indiana Commission for Higher Education recently approved the 33-credit hour degree offering.
“Empowered by the combination of technical and managerial courses that students take in this program, they not only will understand leading-edge concepts, but they also will be able to apply them strategically in their field,” Purdue Calumet Assistant Dean for Graduate Studies, School of Technology Mohammad Zahraee said. “This is an ideal opportunity for those who are currently working in any of the technology fields to gain skills required to be in leadership positions.”
All required coursework will be offered via distance education technology. Students who enroll in this cohort program will take three, 3-credit hour courses per semester over an 18-to-24-month period.
To be considered for 2013 spring semester enrollment, prospective students must submit an application packet by Dec. 10. Enrollment, plan of study and other information can be obtained by contacting Professor Zahraee or Graduate Program Coordinator Jody Kidd by phone at 219/989-2966 or 800/HI-PURDUE, ext. 2966, or by e-mail at email@example.com.
Previously approved, a master’s degree program in modeling, simulation and visualization also debuts at Purdue Calumet this spring.
