HAMMOND | “Marketing Yourself in a Tough Economy” is the theme of Purdue University Calumet’s next Platinum Speakers presentation at 6 p.m. April 22 in the university’s Student Union & Library, Room with a View.
Michael Hicks, director of the Center for Business and Economic Research and assistant professor of economics at Ball State University, will moderate a panel discussion of work force specialists. Through his research Hicks has examined United States labor markets during post-recessionary periods and specifically relating to Indiana.
Comprising the panel are:
Eric Dombrowski, Center of Workforce Innovations, Inc. research assistant; Shaun Darling, Arcelor Mittal Steelworker for the Future Program team leader; Anthony Ferracane, Community Foundation of Northwest Indiana vice president of human resources; and Shelly Robinson, Purdue Calumet director of career services.
The panel will provide insights on labor trends and how businesses are trying to close the skills gap.
Light refreshments will be served.
