HAMMOND | Purdue University Calumet promoted Regina Biddings-Muro to vice chancellor for advancement, the institution has announced.
In her role, she will serve as the primary development, marketing and communications strategist for the campus, according to a Purdue Calumet release.
The East Chicago native, Merrillville resident and Purdue Calumet alumna was appointed the previous year as interim vice chancellor, overseeing the areas of fundraising, alumni affairs, special events, marketing and university relations.
In announcing her promotion, Purdue Calumet Chancellor Thomas L. Keon said, “Regina is an accomplished, results-oriented, higher-education leader whose diverse experience in building relationships with key constituencies will help our advancement team move Purdue Calumet forward.
“Our ability to cultivate funding support, build a consistent vision of our university brand through effective marketing strategies, advance defining and impactful messages and engage our alumni in proactive ways calls for the type of energetic leadership that Regina provides."
Biddings-Muro joined the Purdue Calumet administration in 2004 as executive assistant to the chancellor for engagement to previous Purdue Calumet Chancellor Howard Cohen. Professionally, she also has served as a director of communications and community relations at Northern Indiana Public Service Company, an executive in sales and communications at the former Inland Steel Co. and a broadcast journalist.
