HAMMOND | Purdue University Calumet students and members of the university’s Agency 429 advertising club recently earned five awards in the AAF-NCI ADDY competition.
The ADDY awards, sponsored by the American Advertising Federation, represent distinction within the world’s largest advertising-related competition.
Students Jen Muha of Schererville, Celina Lewis of Hobart, Desiree Farkas of Dyer and Roberto Cisneros of Hammond received a student silver ADDY in each of the following categories: “Consumer Publication Campaign” and “Out-of-Home Single” and a student gold ADDY in the category “Single Non-Traditional." Students Josh Spiekhout of Highland and Autumn Cueller of Crown Point received a student gold in “Digital Mobile Applications."
Additionally, Spiekhout and Cueller gained awards in the category of “Best in Show—Student”.
The gold award winners advance to the regional ADDY competition in April for an opportunity to qualify for national competition in June.
“The ADDY award competition is the largest advertising competition in the world,” Purdue Calumet faculty member and club adviser Matt Hanson said. “Our continued success at this level is a direct correlation to the number of talented students that we have here at Purdue Calumet.”
Purdue Calumet’s Agency 429 is comprised of students primarily from the university’s Departments of Communication & Creative Arts and Marketing, Human Resources & Management. The Agency 429 student advertising award tally (from 2007-2013) has now been increased to 17.
