HAMMOND | The Becker CPA Exam Review course will be offered weekly on Saturdays at Purdue University Calumet Saturdays, beginning June 1 for five months.
Sessions, taught by professional accounting experts from Becker and Purdue Calumet, are scheduled from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the Hammond campus. The course is designed to prepare accounting graduates for the CPA Exam, of which a passing grade is required to become designated as a Certified Public Accountant.
Students who prepare with Becker have passed at double the rate of non-Becker CPA Exam candidates, based on averages of American Institute of Certified Public Accountants-published tax rates.
“Offering Becker’s course at Purdue Calumet provides individuals from northwest Indiana and surrounding areas a convenient location to prepare for the exam,” Purdue Calumet Accounting Department Head Ed Furticella said. “The program has an impressive reputation, and we are excited to offer it on our campus.”
The Becker course provides preparatory instruction in each of the four focal areas of the CPA Exam: Financial, Audit, Regulation and Business. Individuals can enroll in any or all of the four focal areas.
The course fee covers lectures; textbooks; multiple choice, simulation and practice exam software; study planning and review tools; the Becker Promise; and unlimited academic support.
Course sessions will take place most Saturdays through Nov. 2. Enrollment procedures and other information can be obtained at www.becker.com or by phoning (877) CPA-EXAM. Questions also can be directed to Prof. Furticella at firstname.lastname@example.org or by phoning (219) 989-3184.
