Four region men were headed to New York City late Sunday to assist with the derailment of a city train there that killed four people and injured 60 commuters.
Mo Queen, the division manager for the Hammond location of Cranemasters, said the men are from Valparaiso, Chicago, East Chicago and Cedar Lake. He said the Hammond workers Monday morning will relieve workers at the crash site who are scheduled to work overnight.
Cranemasters is based out of Richmond, Va., and specializes in train derailments.
Queen said the men are expected to work on the derailment for the next three days.
