HAMMOND | The Purdue University Calumet Charlotte Riley Child Center has openings for its Summer Camp and Kindergarten Boot Camp.
“Our summer camps are very popular; we are in our third year of providing these enrichment programs to children in the community,” Child Center Director Tamra Bottomlee said. “One of the benefits of sending children to camp is that they learn while having fun.”
Summer Camp is open to children ages 3-6 and runs from June 10 to Aug. 2. All activities are hands-on and promote learning and discovery.
Developing skills that promote growth are on the agenda; and the focus will be on mathematics, science, art, simple physics and social studies.
Boot Camp is available to children who will attend any kindergarten program in 2013 or 2014. Duration of this camp is from June 10 to Aug. 2. It also is available to students who completed kindergarten and would like to participate in a fun experience that will keep skills fresh for first grade.
The Charlotte Riley Child Center is located at the south end of campus. More information is available by contacting Director Bottomlee at (219) 989-2343 or TJbottom@purduecal.edu.
