HAMMOND | The Towle Theater is announcing audition locations and times for upcoming productions, "A Fabulous ’50s Christmas" and "Adrift in Macao."
Three rounds of auditions will be held in September. The first is from 1 to 5 p.m. Sept. 7 at Theater Wit, 1229 Belmont Ave.
There will be two nights of local Hammond auditions at 7 p.m. Sept. 8 and 9 at the Towle Theater, 5205 Hohman Ave.
"A Fabulous ’50s Christmas" pays tribute to the 1950s and ’60s Christmas specials of Perry Como and Andy Williams. Those auditioning for this production are asked to prepare 32 bars of a standard Christmas song. They should be prepared to read from a commercial script.
"Adrift in Macao" is a parody of the film noir tradition with characters such as Laureena, the blond beauty, a "surf and turf" casino owner, a mysterious villain, and Mitch, a man framed for murder.
Auditioning individuals are asked to prepare 32 bars of a Broadway song that is not from "Adrift in Macao." They also may be asked to read from the script or sing from the score.
Individuals auditioning for either production should provide sheet music in the correct key with no a cappella or tape accompaniment.
All roles in the shows will be paid.
To schedule an auditioning appointment for Sept. 7, email a head shot and resume to email@example.com, and specify which production you are auditioning for.
Auditions Sept. 8-9 need no appointments. For more information about the show or the 2013-14 season, call Towle Theater at (219) 937-8780 or visit towletheater.org.
