HAMMOND | The Towle Theater will hold auditions this weekend for its upcoming production of the tpsychological thriller "The Nightmare Room" by John Goodrum, based on a short story by Sir Arthur Conan Doyle.

The production will be directed Mark Baer, assistant professor of Acting and Directing at Indiana University Northwest, and performers will be paid.

Two strong female actors in their late 20’s to mid 40’s are needed. Auditions will be held from 10:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Saturday at Theater Wit, 1229 Belmont, Chicago, with callbacks and local auditions at 3 p.m. Sunday and 7 p.m. Monday, at the Towle Theater, 5205 Hohman Ave., Hammond.

All rehearsals and performances will take place at the Towle Theater. Performances are May 2-4, 8-10 and 16-18.

The play is about two best friends, both in love with the same dashing former movie star, locked in a room with a bottle of poison.

For the Chicago auditions, actors are asked to request an appointment and include their headshot/resume to Prepare a one-minute contemporary dramatic monologue, and be prepared to read from the script. Those attending the Towle Theater auditions will be asked to read from the script.
