HAMMOND | A Whiting man has 150,000 reasons to be thankful this holiday season.
Ralph Maginot won $150,000 on Sunday on a $5 scratch-off ticket, Hoosier Lottery officials announced Tuesday.
Maginot bought the Cashta$tic ticket at the Luke gas station at 3550 Sheffield Ave. in Hammond, according to a Hoosier Lottery news release.
He told lottery officials he doesn't have big plans for the money.
As of Tuesday afternoon, three top prizes remained in the Cashta$tic game, which went on sale last month.
Maginot's prize is one of three big winning tickets sold recently in the region.
A Gary store sold a winning $10.5 million Hoosier Lotto ticket from Saturday's drawing and a Merrillville gas station sold the first winning Cash 5 ticket, which was drawn Thursday night.
