HAMMOND | Summer is just around the corner, and there’s no better way for children to stay active and physically engaged then by attending summer camp at Crossroads YMCA - Hammond Branch.
Registration begins Thursday and will continue through summer between the hours of noon and 6:30 p.m. at the YMCA, 7322 Southeastern Ave. A fee of $20 per child is due at registration. The summer camp program is open to children 5 to 14 who have already completed kindergarten.
This year, camp will offer participants a variety of activities in which to get involved, from arts and crafts classes, to swimming and other sports. There will also be opportunities to attend field trips.
“We want all of our campers to learn how to swim and learn how to save each other’s lives,” said Lake County Voucher Coordinator Cynthia Lewis. “All while making new friends for a lifetime.”
