CROWN POINT | Lake County elections officials said they are saving the town of Highland about $32,000 by not holding a primary election there Tuesday.
Sally LaSota, elections board director, said the town and county realize the savings since they don't have to pay to staff and rent 26 polling places there.
Five Democrats are running unopposed for clerk-treasurer and four separate town council seats. Three Republicans are running unopposed for three separate town council seats. ~ By Times Staff
