Chamber honors the Best of Highland

HIGHLAND | Great food and networking was enjoyed at the first Highland Chamber of Commerce Best of Highland ceremony held recently at Wicker Park Social Center.

Participating restaurants included Cakes By Karen, Dining Solutions, Jimmy Johns, Round the Clock, Texas Corral, Theo’s Steak & Seafood, Town Club Restaurant & Lounge, and Tradition’s, winner of the Taste of Highland sampling.

The chamber presented its Lifetime Achievement Award to retired banker Paul Doherty for his many years of service and dedication to the Town of Highland and the chamber in recognition of his leadership, excellence and achievement.

All Best of Highland finalists were honored and winners included: Michelle Anderson, First Financial Bank, Chamber Board Member; Mary Shelton, Centier Bank, Chamber Volunteer; Nick and Pat Popa, Popa Heating & Cooling, Chamber Business Person; Lincoln Community Center, for Chamber Beautification; Cecile Petro, Highland Redevelopment, Civil Servant; Ken Mika, Fire Department; Jerry Koedyker, Police Department; Sylvester Gardner, Parks Department; Mike Pipta, Public Works Department, and Michael Boskovich, School Town of Highland.
