HIGHLAND | While the need for warm coats has never been greater, it has also never been easier to meet this vital need. Apex Construction and Remodeling invites area residents to join them in an effort to ensure that no one goes without a warm coat this winter.

Apex is holding a One Warm Coat drive, collecting clean, gently used warm coats for women, men and children, through Friday. Located at 2743 Highway Ave., Apex is open 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily to accept donations.

One Warm Coat is dedicated to collecting and distributing gently used warm coats - free of charge and without discrimination - directly to local children and adults in the local area. All coats donated in Highland will be given to Sojourner Truth House in Gary to be distributed as needed. Those who do not have a coat to donate can help provide a warmer winter by texting “WARM” to 80100 to donate $10 to One Warm Coat.

One Warm Coat is national nonprofit organization that supports and encourages coat drives. It helps individuals, groups, companies and organizations across the country collect coats and deliver them to local agencies that distribute the coats free to people in need.
