HIGHLAND | The independent group Funk Volume has been getting praise from the past year. This year a particular person in the group has been noticed. His name is Dizzy Wright and he shocked the underground world with his new E.P (extended play)from two months ago. It's called 'The First Agreement' and I'm sure that we can all agree that this was a very impressive piece of work.
The lyricism of the tape is rated a 4 out of 5 stars. 'Songs like End Of Time' showed this ability. In the 'End Of Times' he was explaining that the world is a painful place and asking, “what would you do if you had one more day to live?” He didn't talk about the usually thing that most rappers do in most of this tape ; however, there was one song that did called Hotel stripper.
Production of the tape by DJ Hoppa had to be what sold me to this E.P.I give it another 4 out of 5 stars. The songs was something that everyone can vibe to. It probably wouldn't be something to get you hype for a basketball game, but it would be something to listen to when you're calm. Songs like 'Fly High' provided a perfect example. With vocals from Nikkiya on this track made it sound very calming.
Delivery on the E.P was one of the best I heard in a while, since 2 years ago on Kendrick Lamar's “Section 80” the E.P. I give it a 5 out of 5. 'Hotel Stripper' has one of the best deliveries on the E.P. Although this was closer to the mainstream side, it showed that he had the ability to be on the radio if he wanted too.
This was a magnificent piece of work in my eyes. I rate this E.P a 4.5 out 5. He had lyrics, production and good delivery to prove that he could one of the next big things. Good work, Dizzy Wright.
