HIGHLAND | Indianapolis Boulevard from Ridge Road to 81st Street was closed for about an hour Wednesday morning because of a gas main break.
Nearby businesses in the busy retail area were evacuated as a precaution, Highland Police Chief Peter Hojnicki said.
The break occurred when construction crews working on Indianapolis Boulevard hit a main just before 7:30 a.m. The road was reopened at 8:45 a.m.
