HIGHLAND | It's becoming more unusual for someone to work 25 years for the same company, and even more rare to work a quarter-century without missing a day of work.
But Sgt. Michael O'Donnell, of the Highland Police Department, has done it and received accolades Monday night for his accomplishment.
Council President Brian Novak, D-4th, a former Highland officer, said he worked with O'Donnell for seven years and that he was always someone to look up to.
"Twenty-five years of (perfect) attendance is unheard of," said Police Chief Pete Hojnicki. "This is the record here."
