HIGHLAND | Police are warning residents about a scam that led to at least two thefts during the weekend.

Highland police said two residents reported that men came to their house asking questions about their house. In the first incident, a man asked to check the water in the basement and in the second incident two men lured a homeowner to a different part of the home to ask them questions.

The residents noticed things were missing from their home after the men left.

Police said homeowners shouldn't let anyone in their home without asking to see a work badge. Highland workers have badges with the town's logo and drive marked cars.
