HIGHLAND |The Highland School Board will be appointing a new member to fill the vacancy created by the Nov. 7 death of Larry Vassar, who served a total of 32 years on the school board.
Those interested in filling the vacant seat on the School Town of Highland Board should submit a letter explaining why they would be a good fit to serve on the board. Applicants must be legal voting age, residents of the Town of Highland, and be able to legally hold office.
The letter of interest should be submitted by 4 p.m. Nov. 26 to the School Town of Highland Administration Building at 9145 Kennedy Ave., Highland IN, 46322, or email@example.com. Superintendent Brian Smith will collect and share the letters with current board trustees, who will select a new member to serve the remainder of Vassar's term, which ends Dec. 31, 2014.
