CROWN POINT | Prosecutors have charged a Highland town official with misdemeanor battery in connection with an injury reported by a then-town employee.
A probable cause affidavit filed Feb. 7 alleges Robert Johnsen kicked a table in a break room Jan. 23, causing injury to the former employee who was resting his head on the table in his crossed arms.
Johnsen, 37, holds the post of assistant public works director for Highland. The alleged victim is no longer a town employee.
Police were told Johnsen had come into the break room saying nothing before kicking the table, which upended.
The injured man did not seek medical treatment, but alleges suffering headaches for a short period after the incident.
Johnsen's initial hearing is set for April 1 before Lake Superior Court Judge Julie Cantrell.
