HIGHLAND | The Highland Petco holds Adoption Days from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. every Saturday to provide local shelters an opportunity to find homes for displaced animals.
Sue Hanlon, founder of I Wanna Go Home Rescue, has nine dogs needing homes available for adoption.
Hanlon works with animal control and humane societies across Northwest Indiana to help rescue homeless animals. She collects animals from local humane societies that are having trouble getting adopted.
Through Adoption Days, those pets are finding homes.
"Our organization is helping Petco educate the public about how to properly care for animals," she said.
The Highland Petco is at 10235 Indianapolis Blvd.
