HIGHLAND | The School Town of Highland will hold registration beginning Monday for its kindergarten classes.
Students must be 5 years old on or before Aug. 1, 2014.
Parents or guardians must bring five proofs of residency with them, including:
• Two of the following: NIPSCO, water, phone or cable bills (utility bills/deposit receipts).
• Two of the following: driver's license, state ID, vehicle registration, paycheck/unemployment check receipt.
• One of the following: lease or rent receipt, mortgage and homeowners insurance documents, notarized letter with three proofs of residence.
Parents or guardians must also bring proof of custody, if applicable, a birth certificate, Social Security number and current immunization records.
Parents are urged to bring their children and the above items to the elementary school that serves their immediate district.
Parents whose last names begin with the letters A through J should register between 8:45 and 11 a.m. Parents whose last names begin with the letters K through Z should register from 12:45 to 2:30 p.m.
Registration is accepted Monday at Warren Elementary School, 2901 100th St.; Tuesday at Johnston Elementary School, 8220 Fifth St.; Wednesday at Southridge Elementary School, 9221 Johnston St.; and Thursday at Merkley Elementary School, 9340 Fifth St.
