Festival of Trees aids NISO
MUNSTER | The Women's Association of the Northwest Indiana Symphony Society hosts its annual Festival of the Trees from 10 a.m. to noon at the Center for Visual and Performing Arts, 1040 Ridge Road, Munster. Toys go to Children's Hospital

Lights of Life ceremony set
MUNSTER | The Community Hospital holds its Lights of Life ceremony from 6 to 7 p.m. a the hospital, 901 MacArthur Blvd., Entrance B. Each light on the Lights of Life trees at The Community Hospital shines in honor or memory of the special people who light up the lives of others. For every light, a $5 donation has been made to support cancer research. For a $15 donation, a pink breast cancer pin or a lavender cancer awareness pin also can be sent to the honoree. Snowflake Skate takes to ice
MERRILLVILLE | Advance tickets are required for the Snowflake Skate from 9 to 11:30 a.m. at Deep River Waterpark. It's for girls 6 and older and their dolls. Tickets are $15 and include admission, skate rental, all activities, pizza, drinks and dessert. Adult tickets are $12 and include admission, skating (if they choose), and food. Tickets remain on sale until Thursday or sold out. It concludes with lunch and a group skate routine.
