SCHERERVILLE | The Munster-Highland Epsilon Omicron chapter of Tri Kappa sorority will host its 22nd annual fashion show from 5:30 to 10 p.m. Monday at the Halls of St. George, 905 E. Joliet St.
Tickets are $35 and can be purchased by contacting Dani Churilla at (219) 775-7193 or emailing firstname.lastname@example.org. Special accommodations will be made for vegetarians.
To celebrate the 140th renewal of the “Greatest Two Minutes in Sports,” the Kentucky Derby-themed evening will include a boutique, champagne, dinner, entertainment and a fashion show featuring the latest trends for women.
While Tri Kappa members will don Derby-fashioned hats and attire, the show will feature all sorts of styles from The Dress Barn and Eco Chic Boutique, new to the area. Guests are invited to create and wear a Kentucky Derby hat to join in the festivities and possibly win a prize.
Guests also will have the opportunity to shop at boutiques of at least 50 different vendors, purchase raffle tickets for prizes and try their run at split the pot.
Tri Kappa is a philanthropic organization only in Indiana. All of the money collected is disbursed back out into the community every year.
With the help of local businesses in Northwest Indiana, Epsilon Omicron is able to provide assistance to causes such as Haven House, Hospice of Northwest Indiana, Mother McCauley Clinic, Halo of Hope, Hammond Warming Shelter and local families in need. Proceeds also help provide scholarships and support programs of the Munster and Highland police and fire departments.
Members also contribute to the Riley/Ronald McDonald house in Indianapolis by donating pop tabs, unopened Happy Meal Toys, and by making fleece blankets, children’s hospital gowns and puppy pillows.
