While Tri Kappa members will don Western wear, the show will feature all sorts of styles from Old Navy and The Dress Barn. Guests will have the opportunity to shop at a boutique of at least 50 vendors and raffle and 50/50 tickets will be sold for prizes. The dinner for the event is BBQ chicken, coleslaw, potatoes, corn, muffin and S’mores Square for dessert.
The Munster-Highland Tri Kappa is a philanthropic organization only in Indiana. All of the money collected is disbursed back out into the community every year.
With the help of local businesses in Northwest Indiana, Tri Kappa is able to provide assistance to many worthy causes such as Haven House, Hospice of Northwest Indiana, McAuley Clinic, Halo of Hope, Hammond Warming Shelter and local families in need. The proceeds from this event also help provide scholarships to students and support the activities of the Munster and Highland Police and Fire Departments.
Members also contribute to the Riley/Ronald McDonald house in Indianapolis by donating pop tabs, unopened Happy Meal Toys, and by making fleece blankets, children’s hospital gowns and puppy pillows.
Tri Kappa also hosts the Boo Blast a children’s Halloween party for those 12 and under in October every year at the Lincoln Center in Highland.
