HIGHLAND | A 90-year-old man died Wednesday after a two-car crash in Highland, police said.
The man was pulling out of a parking lot at the Old Country Buffet at Main Street and U.S. 41 on Wednesday afternoon when another car hit the driver's side door of his car, police Cmdr. George Georgeff said.
The man was taken to Community Hospital and later airlifted to Advocate Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn, Georgeff said. The man died at the Illinois trauma center, he said.
Police are uncertain the wreck caused the man's death and are awaiting autopsy results from the Cook County medical examiner's office, Georgeff said.
The driver of the other car was taken to a hospital and later released, Georgeff said.
